Hours to Volunteer

Record your hours spent volunteering at all ADS Recognized Events or ADS Member Club organized driving events. When you reach a milestone, send your log sheets into the ADS and we will send you a certificate for 25-, 50- and 75-hour milestones, and lapel pins for 100- and 250-hour milestones, along with recognition in the February issue of The Whip. You must be an ADS member to participate. Event organizer’s names and phone numbers must be included for verification purposes.

Hours to Volunteer milestones: 25, 50, 75, 100 and 250

This program, new in 2024, was created by the Membership Committee and is sponsored by Abbie Trexler and Dan Rosenthal. As with Hours to Drive, hours earned are cumulative and roll over from year to year. Hours logged as a volunteer may begin January 1, 2024.

Deadline for submissions is September 15. Submissions not received by deadline will count toward the following year.

FAQs:

Do hours spent in planning and organizing an ADS Recognized or ADS Member Club driving event count or only the hours volunteering at the actual event?

No, only the hours volunteering at an ADS Member Club Event or an ADS Recognized Event count.

Does the volunteer need to be an ADS member at the time they log the hours, or just by September when they submit the log for recognition, right?

The spirit of the award is to promote greater volunteerism among ADS members at club and recognized events, so the volunteers must be a member during the period when they volunteered (not just when the log was due). Earned hours may begin Jan 1, 2024 and should be submitted annually.
